Website Traffic Source, How To Increase Web Site Traffic?

I will not start this article by telling you how important is website traffic, because I am sure you already know that, and this is the only reason making you read this article. I will start by telling you that more important is the website traffic source you are targeting.
By identifying the right website traffic source and make all efforts to target this source, you are on the right path of success, otherwise you will be wasting time and money on generating website traffic from different sources that worth nothing to your online business or what ever you are trying to deliver from your website.
Let’s phrase it differently, It is not important how you increase web site traffic, more important is how you identify the best source of traffic for your website and how you increase website traffic from that source.
It does not mean you need to stick with one only website traffic source, it means that you can generate traffic from different sources but your goal will always be targeting your website traffic source.
My own website is a network marketing website, I discuss some good network marketing opportunities, and help my own members together with others to understand how to choose the right opportunity and how to promote it. So at the end my only goal is to make money from my website, what makes it my online business.
And after trying almost every website traffic source and strategy, like ezine marketing, paid e-mail marketing, buying leads, and even I wasted some time on traffic exchange programs. I reached one conclusion. My best website traffic source is search engines.
If I can make my website get to the first page of search engines when people search for terms related to making money online, mlm, and network marketing. I could generate more leads, more sales, and increase my income.
Now all my efforts are focusing on search engine optimization, because I do not want to spend more than half of my income for ads on Google or yahoo as Pay Per Click.
Search engines optimization could be done by two things:
1. on-page optimization, that means how to design and write your pages, and for this porpoises there are hundreds of good articles and books to help you understand the basics.
2. The second element is one way link building, that require you to build more and more backlinks to your website to force search engines to rank your website higher on their search engines.
After having you on page optimization, you need to start considering building back links to your website, those link could do magic for your website and pages; with those back links you do not need to submit your website to search engines any more, search engines will automatically index your pages after finding those links.
Also those links are a great website traffic source, that can divert some of the traffic from the pages your links at to your website.
But the main question will remain, how to build one way back links.
There are hundreds of one way link building strategies, but more important is to find a strategy not only to increase your link building but also to increase direct traffic to a website through those links. This way you can hit two targets with one task.
Today’s best sources of back links are the same best sources of traffic, like article marketing, bookmarking, social networking and video marketing.
You see, I have found my best website traffic source, but by targeting this traffic source I was getting into new sources and increasing my website traffic. And this is the how you need to increase website traffic.
Make the search engines as your goal, the optimal source of website traffic, but make your marketing to target this source by getting into other traffic strategies.
