It sounds as though the problem might be lack of good content. Link building and social marketing will only get a website so much traffic. Content is what gives a site ability to rank in the search engines – search engines are what really bring large volumes of traffic to a website. Though the content on your site might be perfectly tailored to your chosen keywords – if those keywords aren’t actively searched, then the traffic will not show up. Providing large volumes of content creates a wide array of variations within the text, that the search engines will pick up on. This will enhance your site’s ability to snare the “long tail” searches, or keyword strings of many words.

The reason blogs earn traffic is because they have fresh content and lots of it, so this further leads me to believe that the site just needs to beef up the content.

Here’s a list what you should do:

    1. Create well-written and original content. It is absolutely critical to
    your long-term search-engine-optimization success.
    2. Build links. Note that although quantity is
important, focus on trying to build quality and relevant
    links.
    3. Bookmarks. Submit your link to a social bookmarking site. This is usually for free.

I hope this helps. You can visit this site for more consultation and it’s for free, http://www.neuracom.com/.

Some of the ways you can advertise your website and increase traffic are:
    1. Post an article about your website on related blogs and get free back links
    2. Submitting to directories
    3. Free classifieds
    4. Forums

it is not possible to get traffic to site within few hours or few days. It may take time if you are going through organic SEO. The better idea to get high traffic in a short period of time is either by paid optimization i.e through PPC, and other advertising methods. The other method is viral marketing which can sometimes get you a huge traffic sometimes it may fail.

You can also get some good traffic through Organic SEO. Please check the link below for it:
